October 14th Meeting!!

Fifer Farms UPDATE

Since the weather is less than stellar for running around in fields, I'm not sure how many of us Moms are willing to make the drive..... If you wish to still go, you can still participate in all the same activities- just get a time for the hayride when you arrive. You can also go any other time and pay the same rates!

Fifer Farms Field Trip

Wednesday, October 7th we will be descending upon Fifer Orchards in the Camden-Wyoming area (outside of Dover). We have a hayride time- 10:30am- but other than that, come and go as you please! There are many fun activities- hay slide, hay maze, corn maze, tricycle races, grain sandbox, bean bog toss, apple and pumpkin story boards (excellent for pictures!), and tons of apples to buy and pick!

Cost: $6 per kid over 2- includes pumpkin they pick out in the field
2 and under- FREE!! And last year, they still got a pumpkin
$4 per adult- and you get a pumpkin, too!
$1 per person for hayride
Extra Costs: $1- paint your pumpkin
$5- food- hotdog, chips, fruit, cold apple cider
$2- snack- cider, apple and cookie

There is a cute little store where you can buy any number of vegetables and fruits. There is also a huge crate of "2nds" apples that are super delicious and cheap!

Directions: 13 N to intersection of 13 and Rt. 10. Turn Left at the Dairy Queen and Eckerd's onto Camden-Wyoming Ave. Follow to the RR tracks (approx 1.3 miles), cross and take Right and then an immediate Left onto Grant St. Continue 1/2 mile and Fifer is on the Right.

After all the festivities, there are some food options-a Chick-fil-A is just south on 13, there is the Dairy Queen on the corner of 13, and there are numerous options in Dover.

Hope to see some of you there!

Brownie Sundae Social CHANGE!!!!

Due to the inclement weather, we will be moving the Brownie Sundae Social to New Covenant Church! The time- 6:30pm-8pm, is the same. What you need to bring is the same- something to put on a Sundae. An extra bonus to having The Social at the church is that the kids can check out their Moppets rooms and get reacquainted with the facility! It should be a great time for the kids to play together, the men to meet each other, and for us Moms to reconnect! See you this evening!
**New Covenant is on Rt 1, behind the Ruby Tuesday (at the same light as Kmart), underneath Casapullas Sub Shop

MOPS Summer Events

During the Summer, MOPS is technically "over" but as Moms, we still need time and places to connect with each other. We are trying to provide opportunities for Moms to get out, kids a chance to play with friends, and everyone have some good ol' summer fun. So.... Tuesday will be our "fun" day, alternating between meeting at the Lewes Beach or having a playgroup. A calendar of dates and hosts will be coming shortly. If you are interested in hosting a playgroup, please contact Lisa Perreca. Playgroups can be at your house, a local park, etc Stay tuned for an updated entry and emails about the Playgroups!!

End of the Year Picnic at Grove Park

Our final MOPS event will be our End of the Year picnic at Grove Park, starting at 10am. Bring your kiddos, a picnic and possibly some bug-spray! During the playtime, your kids will be asked to put their painted handprints on an apron to give to their Moppets Teachers- as part of their Thank-You gift. We hope you are all able to come!

May 13th- Last Meeting

This year is quickly drawing to a close- sniff! May 13th will be our last official meeting. It is still going to be a time filled with food (everyone bring something yummy to share), fun (you will have plenty of conversation time), and fellowship (think of a thing/moment/event/speaker from this year that was special to you that you are willing to share with the group). It promises to be a great way to end this roller coaster of a year! Money will also be collected for our Moppets teachers end-of-the-year gifts. See you there!

Mom's Night Out

On Saturday, March 28th, we will be having our monthly Mom's Night Out. This month it will be a Wine and Game night. The fun starts at 7:30pm at Renee K's house- please bring either a bottle of wine or soda, and a light snack to share. If you have a fun game you like to play sans children, that would be great as well! It should be a fun evening of adult conversation, adult snacks, adult drinks, and just plain fun! If you think you will be coming, please leave a comment here or email Renee so we can have an idea of how many women will be able to come. See you there!

March 25th Meeting

Please bring in some pictures for this meeting! You need a baby picture of yourself and one of your kids (in a group or individually). Please write or label yours either on the back of the photo, with a post-it, or even by putting them in an envelope. If you don't have a hard copy, email Lisa P your pictures and she will get them printed off. Don't worry- you will get your pictures back at the end of the meeting!
